Soundtrack of the Day: Chuck Season 5
Finished watching the fifth and final season of Chuck last night. This is one show I’ve been hooked to since day one, even when it wasn’t popular yet, and I was there when it almost got cancelled right after the first season, and when it came back to air for four more seasons thanks to the help of its fans and its sponsors, like Subway.
Watching Chuck end is so heartbreaking. I still remember watching the first ever episode; it was lunch time and I just snuck in an episode (because I was really curious what it was about) before going back to work, but I got hooked and watched the second episode. And the rest is history. So last night, the ending really made me tear up, but it got even sadder when I remember that first time I watched Chuck. Chuck was so different then, and so was I.
Anyway, before watching the ending, I always thought that it was right for Chuck to end already ‘cause the show seems to have run its course. But after seeing how it ended, I would give anything to know what happens next. But I guess, you know, objectively, for an ending, it wasn’t too bad. It was actually good. It was unexpected, and it just didn’t close the door, you know? It kept the story going, only that it left the rest up to the viewers’ imagination. And there are so many possibilities, you know, which makes it so much more intriguing. But I guess the whole point was that *spoiler alert* Chuck and Sarah was going to have the chance to fall in love like normal non-spies people do, and I also do think that it’s beautiful. And fitting. Because that’s what they’ve always wondered about - and wanted - from the start.
So I am bidding the show a bittersweet goodbye, along with the wonderful music that has made Chuck even more amazing.
